Php
I've been learning Php on and off for the last few weeks, its a pretty easy language with a nice syntax and plenty of uses. If I was starting to learn to program again I'd probably start there as I struggled to find a starting point those two short years ago. So, over the Christmas break I'm going to do my best to put together some introduction to programming tutorials based in Php. It is at the bottom of a long list so it could be a slow series!
I'll put together everything that needs to be covered in my next php post! Hopefully someone will actually learn from them! :)

The App
Following a slight setback in the Imagine cup my main project is now developing an android app for my friend! Its a good idea and I'll be writing alot about it once I've it on the market by late January, stemming from its concept I'm probably going to put together afew games. I'll be uploading small tutorials, more to prove to myself that I understand what I'm doing than to teach anyone who reads this but none the less they'll be here and I'll be covering the google maps api along with integrating it with android! And I've college exams to do, it helps that these projects have such strong links with my course.
On a side note Google maps 6.0 was released today and looks pretty nice, mapping the indoors, great idea, lets see how long it is until someone kicks up a fuss about security...

Trailblazer
I've spent the last few days blazing through the android SDK and it seems incredibly easy to get relatively functional apps up and running quickly, it's very nicely laid out. My only problem with it is how eclipse dependant it seems to be, at this point I'm surprised they haven't provided a android based IDE, with the option, of course, to still use eclipse or whatever you may want to use... Looking forward to getting that project up and running, the foundations have been laid, once exams finish the building will commence!
Looks like I'll be taking my plunge into the cloud soon, specifically Microsofts azure to produce our Imagine cup project, we could equally wind up using XNA. We've come up with two great ideas, hopefully we'll be able to do the chosen one justice and bring it into the real world. I'll post the loosing idea here, just so its not abandoned completely, that way it will exist somewhere other than within a select few peoples heads!
